Karl Lauterbach finds out about innovative care with voize
At a joint meeting, Cologne-based Diakonie Michaelshoven and voize presented to Karl Lauterbach and Achim Post MdB how the provider is significantly reducing the workload of nursing staff with the voize voice AI system for care documentation. By using voize, the institution has freed up an average of 18 minutes more time per shift for its employees, which can be used to care for residents.

Nursing staff spend around 30% of their working time on documentation. The voize app enables them to record this easily via their smartphone. The artificial intelligence of voize understands what nursing staff want to document, creates structured entries and transfers these to the existing documentation system via an interface. voize is in use in around 500 outpatient and inpatient facilities in Germany and Austria.
Diakonie Michaelshoven is increasingly focusing on innovative measures to shape the care conditions and working conditions of its employees. As part of this, it was one of the first providers in Cologne and the region to introduce voize care documentation in all of its care facilities.
Christian Potthoff, Managing Director of Diakonie Michaelshoven, emphasized the relevance of innovative solutions for care: "With voize, we have noticeable relief and considerable time savings in documentation for our employees. This leaves more time for humanity, because humanity is what matters in care. voize also helps us to fill vacancies in care more quickly because we have become more attractive to applicants. As Diakonie Michaelshoven, we see ourselves as shaping the future of care and want to drive social innovation, even if there is no state funding for this at first. We are very satisfied with voize after just under a year."
A visit to the Albert-Schweitzer-Haus inpatient care facility, where Karl Lauterbach asked staff and residents about their experiences with voize, showed what care practice with voize looks like. He was also able to test voize himself and see the AI for himself. Lauterbach said: "The work of voize is very impressive, because this documentation technology makes the work process much easier. Currently, up to a third of a care worker's time is spent on documentation, which is demotivating and a waste of valuable time. That's why the digital AI solution that voize is developing is of interest to us." Lauterbach announced the implementation of the major care reform, which is to be developed in consultation with practitioners, as he had seen today in an impressive way.
The voize founders emphasized the importance of cooperation with the care sector in the development of innovations: "In the care sector, we repeatedly encounter impressive innovative courage and a great desire to free themselves from the high administrative burden and relieve the burden on care staff. With voize, we are making an important contribution here. This is made possible by our close cooperation with nursing staff in the development of voize AI," said voize Managing Director Marcel Schmidberger and spoke out in favour of further dialogue: "Shaping the future of nursing together means creating the right framework conditions under which innovations such as voize AI can relieve the burden on nursing staff throughout Germany. This is why an exchange between the care sector, technology providers and politicians is so important right now. We look forward to continuing the conversation."
The meeting sends a clear signal that digital innovations are an important part of the upcoming care reform and the future of care.
