Innovative care documentation thanks to artificial intelligence
Diakonie de La Tour's residential and nursing homes for the elderly have been using the voize voice documentation app in trial operation for almost a year. The intelligent system saves care staff around one hour a day by eliminating the need for care documentation on a PC. Time that is instead available to the residents of the facilities.
Care staff spend around an hour a day in front of a PC in order to comply with time-consuming but important documentation requirements for residents in residential and nursing homes for the elderly. For around nine months, a system based on artificial intelligence called voize has been tested in the facilities of Diakonie de La Tour, which is intended to significantly reduce and simplify this effort. With the app-based solution, care documentation can be easily recorded using a smartphone. The AI can not only understand different dialects, but is also able to transfer the spoken entries directly into the existing documentation system via interfaces.
We are thrilled. The app eliminates the need for time-consuming documentation. We simply speak into the smartphone and the AI automatically creates entries such as blood pressure, blood sugar levels, medication administration or fluid intake directly and correctly filed in our documentation system.

This makes work processes more efficient and reduces the workload for care staff. The aim is to reduce administrative tasks so that more time is available for residents in residential and nursing homes for the elderly.
The voize care documentation app is currently still being tested in trial operation in some Diakonie de La Tour facilities. From 2024, the system is to be used across the board in retirement and care homes throughout Carinthia. 60% of the costs will be covered by the state of Carinthia in future. This will make the province a pioneer in the use of artificial intelligence in care.
